This is a "Vested" 130 year old mine which means the permits are grand fathered in. Part of the parcel , seven acres are divided by Carbondale Road which may be possible for building a home site. Engineer Reports estimated 6 to 7 million tons of Silica Sand & Kaolin Clay are present and if excavation of 500 tons of sand daily would take 30 years to exhaust the mine. At a minimum of $28 a ton that calculate to $168-170 million dollars in revenue.
The Silica Sand found on the property is classified as China White, a very high quality sand, 98% silica which can give you many mess grades & application for potential custom.

Used for high quality glass making, concrete, stone facing, masonry coating, iron foundries, golf & sand traps, aquarium gravel, chemical industry, paint enhancer, fire proof materials, recreational parks, horse tracks, fiber glass, Decorative rock walls and floors, precessing, smelters & refineries, epoxy flooring, counter tops, pool coatings, sand blasting, water treatment, abrasives, landscape rock, water filtration, water proof sewer pipe, fiber optics, grout, composition roof shingles, brick products.
Kaolin Clay another product from this mine uses are as follows:
Make-up, glossy paper, pulp & paper applications, paints, coatings, thermoplastic, vinyl flooring, plate-glass, pvc pipe, rubbers, inks, wire, cable, nutrition ingredients, food and beverage, industrial additives, oral care, used to secure dams, pond and levees.
